What did we do?

We started with the basics!

Instead of painting the original brick fireplace, we wanted to change it up a bit. We applied a smooth stucco on the fireplace to create a cozy vibe. In order to comply with code for a wood burning fireplace and to keep it more minimalistic and modern, we opted out of a mantle. We opened up the main floor by removing the pony wall, post and kitchen wall. In order to make a large impact and value to the home, we updated the flooring on the main level with white oak engineer hardwoods. Engineer hardwoods add a lot of value while being more affordable than hardwood flooring. Lastly, we repainted the walls, doors and windows!
